“That heavenly voice, that groove, that charisma, the clarity of the melodies... Beyond being a ‘10-in-1’ artist, the beautiful Siân Pottok is quite simply a virtuoso.” – ELLE
After the deep waters of her first album “Deep Waters,” with its origins stretching from India to Congo, Slovakia to the United States, via Belgium, Siân Pottok pulls us by the sleeve to reach the sub-Saharan light, with the release of her new EP “HAPPY PEOPLE” (scheduled for release on January 30, 2026).
With the collaboration of Fatoumata Diawara, Tom Excell, Edouard Coquard, Bruno Guglielmi, and her touring musicians, the source of her African roots shines through in the production of this EP, embodying the credo “get up and dance.”
With irony, a smile, and provocation, she explores the paradoxes of human beings: societal issues and contradictions in the face of protecting the planet, the quest for artificial happiness dictated in particular by social media, the defense of “nothing is ever written” and that of individual freedoms versus the social hypocrisy that surrounds us...
Produced by Tom Excell (Nubiyan Twist, Onipa, David Walters...), this opus “Happy People” features catchy melodies, Afro-pop rhythms, saxophone riffs evocative of the world of Mulatu Astatke, and the celestial sound of the k'mele ngoni, which dialogues with Siân's powerful yet delicate voice.
A touch of UK Afro Pop brings a luminous and unifying freshness to this EP.
Between London, Paris, and Kinshasa, Siân Pottok creates a unique sound: a daring blend of refinement and generosity where depth meets an inexorable desire to dance.
