Flora Hibberd unveils her new single, “Mammoth,” following the success of her debut album, “Swirl,” released in 2025. Produced by Ben Lanz (member of The National, Beirut), “Mammoth” reveals a new artistic universe for Hibberd, a rich and textured blend of indie pop and art rock, while retaining the richness and contradictions that characterize her work.
“Mammoth is something immense and lost. Something that speaks to our future and our past. We are lost in our time, and in a way, so is it. If you look, you can see it.” — Flora Hibberd.
Like a textile artist, Flora Hibberd weaves layers of meaning into her music. Born in London, she has lived in Paris since the age of eighteen. Her debut album, “Swirl ” (2025, 22TWENTY), recorded in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, was hailed by international critics, notably by Le Monde, which called it one of the most memorable indie-folk releases of the year, and by KEXP, which described it as “a timeless collection of sweeping folk-pop.” With her haunting melodies, literary lyricism, and magnetic stage presence, Flora Hibberd has quickly established herself as one of the most captivating new voices on the current music scene.
"The best indie folk surprise since New Zealand's Aldous Harding”. Le Monde
“On her album Swirl, the songwriter explores themes of memory, communication and its ruptures, skillfully distilling a mysterious folk language nourished by art-rock, country sounds, shimmering synths or pedal steel motifs.” Radio France
"In the great family of folk, there are many who thrive on rough, ragged ambiances, as if refining their sound might expose them to blasphemy. Flora Hibberd, on the other hand, deploys all her dexterity to fashion sophisticated pieces that, even in their destitution (Baby), shine with dignity.” Les Inrocks
“Flora Hibberd's deep, beautiful voice has an immediate appeal. It's in the capital that she weaves her refined songs with folk, pop and a touch of country, in the manner of fellow artists Aldous Harding or Adrienne Lenker of Big Thief.” France Inter
