Le Vent du Nord

Le Vent du Nord, an internationally renowned quintet from Quebec, has just successfully wrapped up its special 20th-anniversary tour and is back with its 13th album, titled “Voisinages” (La Compagnie du Nord / Absilone / Propagande).

On this new album, Le Vent du Nord explores the theme of neighborhoods as universal sources of inspiration—the interplay and fusion of traditional musical traditions that have enriched Quebec’s repertoire: Irish, Scottish, and American folk music, as well as the songs of Acadia and French-speaking communities across the Americas. The album’s 12 tracks are also inspired by the land itself—its rivers, its stories of war, peace, suffering, and hope, as well as love and friendship. An invitation to discover a world of humanity!

“Throughout the album, we naturally wanted to explore the idea of neighborliness from every angle, but we also conceived it as a call for openness and reconciliation. It’s an invitation to create happy communities”, explains Nicolas Boulerice. “We started this movement with *Territoires*; today, we’re focusing more on the people who live there”.
