“I wanted to talk about what I know best, which is my life. Rébecca M'Boungou, author and composer of the Kolinga project, is no stranger to the universal in her mixed-race life - so many upheavals, splendors, melancholies, pleasures or pains present in this century. Her sophisticated music is instinctively moving, charismatically African and nourished by a thousand skilfully interrogated sources, the voice revealing the inner turmoil of an artist barely thirty years old, who has become the soul of a collective of virtuosos. Kolinga recounts journeys into the depths of the soul in French, English and Lingala, to a sound that draws on pop, Congolese rumba, jazz, soul, chanson and hip hop...

Created at Rébecca's initiative with guitarist Arnaud Estor in 2014, the Kolinga project has continued to leave its mark on hearts and minds since the first album Earthquake (2017), up to a latest opus released in September 2022: Legacy, hundreds of concerts later. Irrigated by autobiography, this latest album was written and composed by Rebecca, and arranged, produced and recorded intimately with Jérôme Martineau Ricotti, the project's drummer.
